After an accident involving a truck carrying a load of African killer bees, millions of bees form a gigantic swarm and make their way to downtown Los Angeles, terrorizing the city’s residents. An emergency that calls our beloved firefighting team to the scene. After Bobby submits his resignation in a fit of melancholy, Buck, Chim, Eddie, Hen and everyone else at the station are now under the leadership of nightmare captain Vincent Gerrard, who revealed his tyrannical leadership style in flashbacks in Season 2. This, along with the stress due to the bees, contributes to a more than anxious atmosphere at the fire station. While Chim and Hen have seen Gerrard in all his inhumanity during their training, and Eddie knows how to deal with him from his military experience, Buck, unfortunately, suffers the most from Gerrard’s attitude. This is just one of the storylines introduced in episode 1 of season 8. And if you think the bees are the only disaster the 118 has to deal with, think again. According to showrunner Tim Minear, this is just the beginning.
